The Burren Wild Orchids - May 2022
Last weekend I had the opportunity to explore the wild Orchids in The Burren, County Clare, Ireland. It was my 2nd time on that area. First time I visited this place was in 2019 in the month of June, you can review the post with the wild orchids I found at that time here . On this post I will show a collection of some of the photos I took to different species from the Orchidaceae family. This time I had the chance to see finally the beautiful Neotinea maculata and the Dactylorhiza kerryensis . Dactylorhiza kerryensis Obviously, the challenge came with the Dactylorhiza genus. There are a couple of different species in the area, a couple of subspecies and the hybridization can also occur in some cases. A big thank you to Sean, Mike and Richard for helping me with some IDs.
