O jardim Primrose Hill localiza-se em Lucan a cerca de 14km do centro de Dublin e nesta altura do ano está aberto para deliciar os seus visitantes com os lindos mantos de Galanthus (e não só!). A entrada custa cerca de 6 euros (não têm multibanco) e são cerca de 2,5ha de jardim imperdíveis até mesmo para os amantes de flores.
A entrada discreta começa num caminho por onde entram os carros em direção à casa do jardim. De cada lado, campos e campos onde florescem diferentes plantas, com especial foco nos Galanthus, Crocus, Eranthis e Cyclamen. É muito interessante observar como o local pretende imitar o habitat natural das suas espécies, e, por outro lado, as combinações muito interessantes entre as plantas. Tudo serve para a conjugação perfeita: flores, folhagem ou porte, são alguns exemplos no que pode pegar para desatar a fazer inteligentes combinações. O critério é, claro, o gosto pessoal de cada um, desde que se escolham plantas adaptadas ao clima do seu jardim e que vivam bem em sintonia umas com as outras, num ecossistema que lhes seja do seu agrado.
The Primrose Hill garden is located in Lucan about 14km from the center of Dublin and at this time of year is open to delight your visitors with the beautiful fields of Galanthus (and not only!). The entrance costs around 6 euros (they have no ATM) and are about 2.5ha of garden not to be missed even for flower lovers.
The discreet entrance begins on a path where the cars enter towards house's garden. On each side, fields and fields where different plants flourish, with special focus on Galanthus, Crocus, Eranthis and Cyclamen. It is very interesting to observe how the place intends to imitate the natural habitat of its species, and, on the other hand, the very interesting combinations between plants. Everything serves for the perfect conjugation: flowers, foliage or postage, are some examples in what you can pick up to untie to make smart combinations. The formula depends solely on the personal taste of each one, as long as you choose plants adapted to your garden's climate and that they live well in tune with each other, in an ecosystem that suits them.

Mais uma vez insisto fortemente a não esquecerem as plantas nativas ou endémicas do país ou, até mesmo (generalizando um pouco), ao continente onde vocês pertencem. É um grande contributo que dão à conservação das espécies, não falando que elas têm maior probabilidade de se adaptarem e viverem bem no clima do seu jardim.
Again, I insist very strongly not to forget the native or endemic plants of the country or, even (generalizing a little), to the continent where you belong. It is a great contribution to species conservation, not to mention that they are more likely to adapt and live well in the climate of your garden.

Este jardim, como podem ver, dispõe as plantas de uma forma muito natural e os efeitos não podiam ser melhores. Daqui em diante dividi as plantas pelos seus géneros botânicos para poderem ter uma visão mais facilitada de algumas das espécies que poderão encontrar. O jardim não tem identificação em cada espécie, portanto é complicado em vários casos especificar ao certo qual o nome científico da planta em questão. Deliciem-se!
This garden, as you can see, arranges the plants in a very natural way and the effects could not be better. From now on I have divided the plants by their botanical genera so that you can have a better view of some of the species you can find there. The garden does not have identification in each species, therefore it is complicated in several cases to specify with certainty the scientific name of the plant in question. Enjoy yourself!

EliminarTão bom este jardim, Gonçalo. Tanta coisa para digerir! Magníficos Helleborus, primeiro - só pq eu os adoro. Adoro esses conjuntos, quando formam clumps bem cheios são realmente plantas majestosas..e é necessário muitos anos para ficarem assim. Depois, esses conjuntos de Galanthus, tb eles espectaculares...adorava saber o nome dessa variedade com as pétalas mais longas pendentes.(?) Olha os Cyclamen coum dão-se bem por cá. dizem ser difícil em clima mediterrâneo, mas os meus estão a crescer bem. E essas Eranthys?? Adoro. Bem, em suma uma boa reportagem e belas fotos também, thankx!
