A Viagem - The Trip

Este ano decidi apostar numas férias diferentes. Nesta publicação vou-vos introduzir aquelas que foram das viagens que me irão ficar para sempre na memória e como elas revelaram as jóias que existem na natureza.

This year I decided to bet on a different holiday. In this post I am going to introduce you to those that were of the vacations that will stay in my memory forever and how they revealed the european nature jewels.

Roteiro | Itinerary

Na minha viagem reservei 4 dias inteiros para conhecer diferentes zonas de 3 países diferentes: 1 dia na Eslováquia, 1 dia na Hungria e 2 dias na Áustria. Mais precisamente em 4 parques naturais, nos arredores de Bratislava, Sopron e Áustria.

In my trip I booked 4 whole days to know different zones of 3 different countries: 1 day in Slovakia, 1 day in Hungary and 2 days in Austria. More precisely in 4 natural parks, on the outskirts of Bratislava, Sopron and Austria.

Objectivo | Goal

Esta viagem tinha vários propósitos. A nível pessoal quis sem dúvida investir nesta que é a minha área de conhecimento preferida e no que me dá mais prazer: estar em contacto com as plantas. Mais que uma viagem é uma aventura que vai muito além de um simples passeio turístico. É toda uma investigação e registo das espécies e dos seus respetivos habitats.

A nível interpessoal, juntamente com o meu blog, quero - através das publicações que irei lançar - dar-vos a conhecer o gigante, variado e valioso património natural que temos no nosso planeta. Como consequência é importante sensibilizar toda a sociedade que a maior parte destes ecossistemas estão criticamente em perigo, em grande parte devido à atividade humana. Em quase todos os locais que visitei identifiquei pelo menos 1 factor que pode a médio/longo prazo dizimar centenas de seres vivos: pressão turística; desflorestação; urbanismo; agricultura e pecuária, são alguns dos exemplos de como o Homem dia após dia, e por vias diferentes, dá mais um passo para uma possível e preocupante extinção em massa.

This trip had several purposes. On a personal level I have undoubtedly wanted to invest in what is my preferred area of ​​knowledge and what gives me the most pleasure: to be in contact with plants. More than a trip is an adventure that goes far beyond a simple turistic tour. It is an entire investigation and registration of the species and their respective habitats.

At the interpersonal level, along with my blog, I want - through the posts that I will launch - you to intduce you the giant, varied and valuable natural heritage that we have on our planet. As a consequence it is important to sensitize the whole society that most of these ecosystems are critically endangered, largely due to human activity. In almost all the places I have visited, I have identified at least 1 factor that can in the medium / long term decimate hundreds of living beings: tourist pressure; deforestation; urbanism; agriculture and livestock, are some examples of how Man day after day, and by different paths, takes another step towards a possible and worrying mass extinction.

Espécies | Species

Ao longo de toda a viagem foquei-me essencialmente em plantas vasculares de pequeno a médio porte que estavam em floração. Tentei fotografar tudo o que encontrava para poder fazer um compêndio.

Por entre diversas famílias, tive o prazer de ver dezenas de espécies de vários géneros botânicos. Flores de plantas que nunca tinha visto ao vivo em estado selvagem, como por exemplo espécies dos géneros Vinca, Dictamnus, Iris, Impatiens e Orchis.

É claro que acabei por encontrar vestígios de flores de plantas muito interessantes como por exemplo do género Primula, Pulsatilla e Cyclamen e ainda encontrei botões de flores que irão abrir em breve de géneros como por exemplo Lilium e Allium.

Sem dúvida que estes são locais que merecem uma visita constante em diferentes alturas do ano para poder abranger uma maior variedade de espécies existentes.

Tive também a oportunidade de fotografar uma grande variedade de animais e fungos.

Throughout the whole trip I focused mainly on small to medium-sized vascular plants that were flowering. I tried to photograph everything I found so I could create a good photographic record.

Among several families I had the pleasure of seeing dozens of species of various botanical genres. Flowers of plants that I had never seen live in the wild, such as species of the genus Vinca, Dictamnus, Iris, Impatiens and Orchis.

Of course, I ended up finding traces of very interesting plant flowers such as Primula, Pulsatilla and Cyclamen, and I also found flower buds that will soon open from genera such as Lilium and Allium.

Undoubtedly these are sites that deserve a constant visit at different times of the year to cover a wider variety of existing species.

I also had the opportunity to photograph a wide variety of animals and fungi.

Habitats

Cada uma das regiões contempla milhares de seres vivos diferentes. No que toca a plantas vasculares, em todas elas já foram registadas mais de 1000 plantas diferentes. Procurar por uma determinada espécies implica saber as condições preferíveis para ela viver. Isto significa que é muito importante sabermos em que tipos de habitats elas crescem. 

Os locais escolhidos por mim são muito ricos em diferentes habitats, e isso justifica a grande variedade de espécies.

Alguns dos habitats que estes locais cobrem: floresta ripária, prado, dique, floresta de encosta, campo, ...

Each of these regions contemplates thousands of different living beings. About vascular plants in all of them have already been registered more . Searching for a particular species implies knowing the preferable conditions for it to live. This means that it is very important to know what habitat types they grow in.

The sites chosen by me are very rich in different habitats, and this justifies the wide variety of species.

Some of the dozens of habitats these sites cover: riparian forest, side arm, former tributary, meadow, dyke, slope forest, xeric habitat, grassland, ...
